Target Swimming

Myself and PAM boy learned to swim in Sep/Oct 2005. It used to be a terrible winter-onset. But we used to wake up at 4:00 AM in the morning and go on to attend the swimming classes between 5:00 to 6:00 AM. PAM was a better swimmer. He was less afraid of the depth and had very good stamina. I was a bad swimmer.

But I continued my swimming even after oct, 2005 (PAM boy got lazy and stopped) and used to go to the pool every weekend. (Still my swimming improved only a little. Though my techniques got better, the biggest constraint was the fear of depth).

Now, Jogging schedule is in place. I will definitely be jogging, everyday of the months to come. Now, I want to start the weekend swimming too. This time I want to get rid of my fear and become a much better swimmer. First task - Should inquire about the pool timings in the Campus recreation center (CRC) of Geogia Tech.

PS: Did you know? The CRC (formerly Georgia Tech Aquatic center) hosted the swimming events of the 1996 summer Olympic games.

Jogging again

Yo! I started jogging again.

Yesterday, when I was returning back to home from the lab, I saw my lab mate, Shawn, jogging near my neighborhood. He and a few other labmates jog everyday in the evening starting from the BME department. Seeing Shawn jogging, I got the enthu back. When I got back home, I immediately went for a jog. I took a rectangular route with my home located in the length of the rectangle. It took around 6 & 1/2 minutes to jog in this route.

Today I jogged again, in the evening. This time, I took a route with greater breadth-wise distance. Planning to gradually increase the distance.

Few changes between the jogging that I am doing now and the one I did in Bangalore
1) Now I am jogging in the evening. I think this is better, because it is still a cold and lazy morning.
2) No music. The Nokia headphones are just not staying in the ear socket. They keep falling and distracting me. But the jogging is still fun without the music.
3) This time I am jogging on concrete sideways. In Bangalore, I was used to jog in the mud/sand path in Oxford school's play ground. I have heard that jogging on a road/concrete path increases the strain in the knees. Just hoping that nothing bad happens to my knees.

Yes, I am feeling more refreshed and light.
