Thiru Collins from Karaikudi

I read this in my Tamil book during my Higher secondary school. The word "Navy" in English is actually from "Navai" in Tamil, meaning "boat". Citing similar examples, the author of the essay concludes that Tamil is a very old language and many languages are influenced by Tamil.

The following is CRAP:
BEGIN CRAP
One day, Myself and my roommate were cursing the big 60 degree slope that we have to traverse to park our cars behind our house (our house is build on a platform 2 or 3 meters above the road level). After some initial cursing, I came out with the following theory.

During the days of "Silapathikaram", there was a port town called "Kaviripoompatinam". It was a thriving merchant town. At some point of time, It got destroyed by sea and the rich merchants of "Kaviripoompatinam" migrated to "Karaikudi", which is inland and away from the sea. Though they were far away from the sea, they were still afraid of the flooding of their houses and hence build their houses on raised platforms. Even today, One can see this style of architecture at Karaikudi. Since our "Ben Collins" too follows the same style of architecture, I concluded that "Ben collins" is one of the descendants of the merchants from karaikudi. His great great....great great grandfather "Ponn Kalingarayan" settled in US some centuries ago. "Ponn Kalingarayan" became "Penn Kallings" and underwent more Anglicization to reach its present form "Ben Collins".

This is my favourite:
Do you follow cricket? There is a player called "Micheal Vaughan" who plays for the English cricket team. In fact the name is "Mayil Vaghanan" (Vaghanam means vehicle. Mayil means Peacock. 'Mayil Vaghanan' is another name for Lord Muruga ). "Mayil Vaghanan" in due course of time became "Micheal Vaughan"!!!!

END CRAP

- Readers (any? if not many!!), please encourage me with your comments! Thanks!
- This happens to be my 50th post. Good for me. I feel so peaceful when I start writing crap!
- Reading my posts again, I feel that they are crappy posts (many if not most!!). But I still intend to add more to the entropy.
